Questions
How do SEIS and EIS work?
They are government schemes that reward investing in young UK companies. If you pay UK income tax:
- SEIS: 50% income tax relief on up to £200,000 a year.
- EIS: 30% income tax relief on up to £1 million a year.
- No capital gains tax when you sell, if you claimed the relief and held the shares for at least three years.
- If a company fails, loss relief can reduce what you lose.
We aim to structure our ventures to qualify. Relief depends on your circumstances, so check with an adviser. Full rules on GOV.UK.
What happens after I join?
We’ll review your details and be in touch by email. Before we share any investment opportunity with you, we’ll ask you to sign a short investor statement, as UK rules require.
Please read. Investing in early-stage companies is high risk. You could lose all the money you invest, and these investments are hard to sell. Only invest money you can afford to lose. Nothing on this site is investment advice.
